Dorchester RFC Junior Section has now been running for over 35 years and continues to go from strength to strength. With age groups from Under 6's to Under 18's, we have over 300 registered players, including 30 girls, and lots to offer.

We have at least one RFU qualified coach and First Aider in each age group and all coaches and managers are committed to grass roots rugby, which is where all great players once started.

No matter what your ability, we are always keen to welcome new players - we believe that if you turn up to train then you can play, and have a strong fixture list of home and away games.

Our season starts in September and runs until the end of April. Our training/playing times are every Sunday morning from 10.00am until mid-day, and the older age groups also train on one evening during the week.

Our clubhouse, based in Coburg Road, Dorchester, has great facilities for players (with up-to-date training aids such as our junior scrum machine,) parents and supporters, as well as those wishing to hire the hall for business or social functions. We feel confident that you will have a great time with us so please e-mail or phone one of the contacts for your child's age group to get started.

Some of our facilities -

  • Floodlit pitches
  • Use of six changing rooms
  • Showers
  • Modern training equipment
  • A first class club house offering hot food, drinks and snacks

We have age groups for girls and boys aged 5 - 12, boys aged 13 - 16 who also train one evening per week, and girls aged 15 - 16.

Dorchester RFC has been awarded the prestigious RFU Seal of Approval, the Sport England Clubmark accreditation and has recently won an award for the quality of its coaching. The club’s flourishing mini and junior section secured the award, effectively a kitemark for rugby clubs, for achieving the highest standards in providing a safe, effective and child-friendly environment.
