Dorchester RFC Coaching Day |
The club is holding a Coach Development day for ALL the coaches and helpers that work with all age groups at the club.
The idea is that a couple of times a year the coaches get together and get a chance to hear any new ideas from the RFU and work on some new coaching skills and generally keep up to date with current trends in coaching rugby.
Its also a great chance for all the coaches to get together and talk about any issues they have and also discuss certain club policy with regard to training.
One point big on the agenda this time will be 'Winning' and the clubs ethos with regard to this subject.
The first day this year is on the 6th of February , Chris Burton (D&W Chair of Coaching) will be presenting information about the new RFU coaches Licence which is being introduced by the RFU.
All coaches will have to have completed certain courses (and have current CRB checks) to achieve this Licence which will become mandatory over the next few years.
Gordon Harding (Dorset and Wilts Chief Selector) will be talking about the selection procedure for county players.
Chris Burton, Gareth Biddle and Gordon Harding will be giving practical coach training sessions throughout the morning.
