Under 9's Festival Champions - Five wins from five games, no tries conceeded

350 children aged between 6 and 12 took part in Dorchester Rugby Clubs annual rugby festival at the clubs Coburg Road ground. Clubs represented were Dorchester, Trowbridge, Old Bristolians, Corsham, Wimborne, Oakmedians, North Dorset and Frampton Cotterell. The day was blessed with glorious weather and Junior Section Chair Les Fry was delighted with the days events and said “We are extremely proud of our annual festival. Whilst it will never be the largest event held, everyone who attended had a good time and many of the clubs have expressed a wish in coming to next years event”.

Performance of the day came from Dorchester Under 9s who won their age group playing 5 games winning all 5 scoring 12 tries and conceding none. They nearly didn’t enter as all the age group regular coaches were away, but Dorchesters 1st XV coach Mike Sprules stepped in and guided the players to victory.
