Coaching and Referee's Courses

Dorset Coach Education Courses - Any interested persons who have questions about courses or require application forms for the courses to email Paul Newbery

North Dorset RFC are hosting an RFU Entry Level Referee Award (ELRA) course on 23rd Sep 07 and 30th Sep 07.

The course is designed for those involved in Club rugby at the youngest age groups right up to those who have a desire to referee at the World Cup in years to come. The course takes place over two full days (9:30 to 4:00) and includes classroom discussion and practical elements in the afternoons of both days. The emphasis is on how to referee rather than what to referee. The better referees know when not to blow the whistle and we have all experienced the enthusiasm for the whistle of those that can’t seem to do this!

The programme for the days covers:
Referee Roles, Responsibilities and Attitudes
Judgement and Materiality
Safety
Communication and Positioning
Child Protection
Problem Areas/Theory into Practice
Game Management and Control

There has never been a better time to start refereeing or for Clubs to ensure their coaches or Club members are fully prepared for that cold November Sunday morning when there is no referee available! Remember, without the referee there really wouldn’t be a game!

Application forms and more detail can be found at this link:
