Dorchester Ladies got their season in National Challenge South West 2 off to a good start last Sunday in their opening game of the season away at Old Patesians (Cheltenham).
The Ladies, under the new captaincy of Vicky Smith, got out of the blocks quickly and in the first ten minutes Tanya Adams intercepted a pass made between the Old Pats centres to score under the posts. This was followed up by three more scores in the first half from Emma Curran, Lil Carr, and Kate Goyder. With 2 conversions from Kate Wakely, Dorchester finished the first half leading 24-0.
During the second half Dorchester lost several players to injury and without subs played with reduced numbers. This affected the balance of play and after another interception try from Tanya Adams (converted), Old Pats made it over Dorchester’s line on two occasions for the match to finish 10-31.
