Dorchester 69 v 0 Melksham

Dorchester cruised to an easy bonus point victory against a game but very limited Melksham.

Early tries from Adam Makepeace and Matt Fry were backed up by two more from impressive debutant Alex Skidmore, just eighteen years old, and winger James Baker, and the bonus point was in the bag after only thirty minutes. Just before the break Matt Fry added his second and Dorchester's fifth, all of which were converted by Baker, to leave the score thirty-five to nil.

The second half continued in similar fashion with tries from Lee Harvey and Dave Gower, playing his two hundredth league game, both converted by Baker. To their credit Melksham never gave up and battled on right to the end despite conceding four more tries, James Newsam, James Baker, Rich Bament and replacement wing Tom Gower all adding to the scoresheet. By this time Baker had misplaced his kicking radar and was unable add any further conversions.

Next week Dorchester play their rearranged game against Wimborne and a win would take them up to third place.
