Dorchester 10 v Frome 60
Sponsored by Coors Brewers - Carling

Rich Bament on the attack against FromeChris Burton refused to criticise his players in the wake of their 60-10 defeat at home to Frome after injuries to three key players disrupted their rhythm.

Captain Rich Bament, James Spensley and John Firkin were all removed from the Southern Counties South clash due to injury and Burton was left cursing his side's luck, but admitted they were well beaten in the end by a team second in the table.

He said: "We started well and the boys did all they could. However, we had to reshuffle when the three players went down injured, and with people having to play out of position things got complicated which didn't help.

"The Frome coach told me that we were unfortunate to catch them on a good day and I would say they are the best side we have played this season so I'm reluctant to criticise our players.

"The lads didn't stop trying, while we also had three youngsters in the side who acquitted themselves well."

Dorchester's only score of the first half came via the boot of Firkin, who before succumbing to injury kicked a penalty for the hosts.

The visitors kept the scoreboard ticking while running in three tries in a devastating five-minute period midway through the second period.

The home side hit double figures late on as Dave Gower crossed the whitewash before Matt Reid dispatched the resulting conversion.
