Welcome to the 'TPS' Master Edward Albert O'Connell weighing in at 7lb 11oz when born at 0314 hours on 27th November 2009 "...Friday's child is loving and giving..." so it looks like he's going to be a back!
For the final time, due to a technical hitch (child birth and lack of sleep) this match report is slightly late, but is sponsored by Redbull and Proplus!
Given my excursions the previous two evenings I hope you can forgive me for not having a bloody clue who played but I think the wet and slightly drowned were:
1. Alex D 2. Simon P 3. Ross Mc 4. Lawrence 5. Stilts 6. Rob Woods 7. Jamie C 8. John Warren 9. Dan Cree 10. Biswell 11. Owen Spratt 12. Toby Waddington 13. Jim Rossiter 14. Tom Clifford 15. Clarke 16. Rob Goodfellow 17. Birm Ham 18. Beige 19. Tony O'C 20. TJ
Not intending to play, arriving at kick off to support the lads, I watched us quickly come to terms with the weather and play some lovely rugby. Forwards and back mixed, players supporting the ball carrier, it was just a shame it was raining like it was, as sometimes no matter what you do in those conditions the ball just won't stick.
Lawrence in his first start was having a great game until a cut above his eye caused his withdrawal meaning in a quick shuffle: JW to second row, Rob Goodfellow having just stepped off a plane from Canada to 8 - and didn't he just play like he was jet lagged.
Halftime off came Owen who'd left his catching hands at home for TJ, then 10 mins into the second half off came sulky pants Rossiter and just happy not to have a migraine Clifford for the pace and directness of B'ham and Beige: B'ham going over in the corner with his first touch of the game. Still the attacks came, and still it was only the greasy ball that stopped the tries from racking up.
Never looked like losing this one, only the weather stopped the score from reflecting our domination. Man of the match Lawrence, Dick of the day Simon for asking Alex to take over as Captain during the match because he wasn't coping!
