It’s all change for the players of Dorchester Rugby Club after their new kit was unveiled prior to Saturday’s home game against League leaders Trowbridge. The players had decided at pre season training that they would like to update the design and style of the kit which has traditionally been green and white hoops. With the help of Sportsgear in Dorchester and Samurai Sports a design was agreed on, and with new club sponsor Shaun Hearn agreeing a 5 year deal through his companies SEC, Weatherbury Hearn Roofing and J W Scaffolding, it was an ideal time to make a change. Dafydd Wright (Vice Captain 1st XV) said that “the players are extremely grateful to Shaun, Sportsgear and Samurai for all their help and support in designing and supplying the new shirts”
Weatherbury Hearn Roofing Ltd, Specialist Environmental Contractors Ltd & J W Scaffolding Ltd are proud to be associated with Dorchester Rugby Club having signed a five year sponsorship deal. Representing the three companies at Saturday’s presentation of the shirts to Club Captain Rich Bament were directors Mark Hearn & Ian Pollock and Keith Adams Contracts Manager of J W Scaffolding. Managing Director Shaun Hearn said “We hope that our investment will assist Dorchester Rugby Club to move forward in coming seasons, this investment in Dorchester Rugby Club is part of an investment strategy in local sport including both football and cricket with an aim to giving young people the opportunity to take part in sport.”
It won’t just be the Senior Teams using the new kit but all age groups across the Junior Section will proudly be wearing the kit from January 2008 onwards. Chair of the Junior Section Andrew Smith said “ we were so impressed with the design that we decided that all age groups would be given a set of shirts for match use, I am sure that this will help build on the excellent spirit that currently exists”
