THE SUN SHONE ON THE GREEN & WHITES GIRLS

Weymouth/Dorchester/Oaks cluster match against Worthing

What a treat! All three age groups had match play in sunny Weymouth and parents had the opportunity to enjoy great rugby in the sunshine. The visiting team Worthing Girls were on their first tour; super sports, who entertained all on and off the pitch.

I understand that the under 13s players had a great game and Rosie scored her first try. Well done I am sure there will be many more to come next season. From What I saw of the under 18s, it looked like enormous fun: another win , and I witnessed a great tackle from Emma, smart play from Alice and Vanessa, and fine running skills from Jenna.

As for the under 15s game. What a fantastic start from the newbies, the whistle had hardly blown and Luna scores the first try of the match. This was closely followed by a 2nd try from the quick footed Alicia. However the Worthing girls were not down hearted and fought back, with their number 15 breaking the line to score their first try of the match. Closely followed by another try from the Worthing winger.

The second half saw the Green & Whites re-group with Alice the speedy scrum half taking the try from a fine off-load by Maisie the oaks flanker. As the sea mist rolled in the Green & Whites kept up the pressure with a further two trys from Alicia. Some diligent work at the breakdown by Tula and good centre partnership from Anna and Robyn.

What a brilliant way the spend a Sunday afternoon. Our thanks go to the hosts and visitors.
Final score 35 - 10
